SPECIAL EDUCATION

  • It is the dream of every special school to train their children to include them in mainstream schools in an integrated and inclusive setting. So is ours.
  • Our children are taught basic life skills which include eating, dressing, grooming, toileting; social skills such as simple monetary transactions, time concept, activities aiming at increasing their receptive and expressional communication skills as well as academic subjects.
  • An individualized evaluation is performed and baseline skill level is established. Our teachers then formulate the goals and the lesson plan.
  • Individualized instructional program is being followed which maximizes the learning opportunities for our children.
  • We maintain an effective teacher- student ratio (1:7.5). Regular monitoring is done so as to ensure that the child is progressing in the right direction.
  • Parents Teachers Meeting is held every alternate week; the goals and teaching methodology are taught to the parent, for them to continue at home. The child’s progress is also discussed regularly with the parent.
